From Glacier Campground, we went back to Butte to get our bikes. Since we decided to stay the night there, we took our time getting back cause, you know, we had to stop for more wildlife pictures of sand cranes and osprey.
The strange woman's bike got fixed, it was a clogged filter in her transmission. They also Jack straightened out a bit. The air filter was cleaned, and the tail light was tightened. He sounded good when we picked him up. And since we had time, I got a haircut before checking into the hotel.
The next morning, we headed to Miles City, Mt., with not much excitement for the day with the 103-degree weather. But the saga with Jack continues with erratic RPM fluctuations. We stopped by an auto parts store for a throttle cleaner, spark plugs, and a tail light. I have not tried the spark plugs, but Jack needs a clutch safety switch from online forums to fix his issue.
From there, we set out for Jamestown, ND. I wanted to stop at a few sights to see Salem Sue - the World's Largest Holstein Cow in New Salem, ND. However, a country fair was happening there, and we couldn't get to her. So we pulled into a gas station and got the best shot I could. Next, Sally, the World's Largest Sandhill Crane in Steele, ND. And finally, the world's largest buffalo monument in Jamestown, ND. Where we will camp for the night before heading closer to MI.
I am excited to be one state and time zone closer to home. So far, the trip has racked up 6433 miles; it looks to be my longest trip.
